Transcribe an audio/video to text in Inspect
Use Transcribe to transform the audio from an audio or video file to a text file. Use the Search Builder to filter audio or video files. To use Search Builder, refer to Use Search Builder in Inspect.
Perform the following procedure to transcribe audio to text.
- In the Main Menu, select .
- Select
the documents you want to transcribe.
- In the pane, click .
- In , type a name to identify the job.
- In , select the appropriate action.
- To create a new transcription, select .
- To replace an existing transcription you created in Epiq Discovery, select .
- To remove an existing transcription you created in Epiq Discovery, select .
- In , select the language to use for the resulting text file. Available languages include:
- Click . When the transcription creates the text file, you receive a message.
- Optional. To review the job progress, click Jobs.
- To view the transcription, perform the following steps.
- Select the transcribed document.
- Select
to view the transcribed text file. Any automatic highlighting appears on the file.

To view details about the submitted job, in the Main Menu, select Overview and then click Jobs Overview.

In the Jobs Overview page, when the Job Status indicator reaches 100%, in the Job Name column, click the job you submitted. The resulting Information dialog box contains details about the job, including the number of documents that were selected and if any documents were skipped. For more details about this Information dialog box, refer to View Transcription job details.
